Tasty Turkey Chili

This is our favorite chili recipe! It has a really tasty blend of spices and is thick and comforting. We love it for game days, winter days, rainy days, summer days, it never gets old. I noticed we’ve had lots of cans of green chilies at Birch which are a must in this recipe!

What You’ll Need

  • 1 lb ground turkey

  • 1 large onion, diced

  • 2 large bell peppers, different colors makes it pretty!

  • 1 can garbanzo beans, drained

  • 1 can red kidney beans, drained

  • 1 can white kidney beans, drained

  • 1 can green chilies

  • 1 can black beans, drained

  • 1 can whole tomatoes

  • 1 12-oz can tomato sauce

  • 1 6-oz can tomato paste

  • 1 can of corn or a cup of frozen corn

  • 3 Tbsp chili powder

  • 1.5 Tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 Tbsp oregano

  • 2.5 Tbsp cumin

  • ⅛ tsp all spice

  • ⅛ tsp cloves

  • 2 tsp salt

How to Make Them

  1. Brown the turkey with the onion and peppers. While those are browning, open and drain the cans, measure the spices, and add everything into a crock pot or multi cooker.

  2. Slow-cook on low for 6 hours, or on high for 2 hours, or under high pressure for 10 minutes with a natural pressure release.

  3. Serve with your favorite chili toppings such as cheese, sour cream, avocados, tortilla chips, and/or green onions. Enjoy!
