Five Spice Citrus Stir Fry
This was a quick 20-minute meal that my 11-year-old daughter could make herself! We used home grown peas, shaved meat from the Costco Gyro platter, and homemade bone broth; besides the peas, all of our ingredients came from Birch. We save salad mix topping packets to use for garnish!
What You’ll Need
1-2 tbsp Cooking oil
2-4 cups chopped or sliced fresh veggies of choice, such as red onion, bell pepper, snow peas, broccoli, carrot, or cabbage.
12-16 oz leftover cooked meat such as steak, chicken, or pork, sliced thinly into bite size strips
2-3 packages of dry ramen
Bone broth, optional for cooking with ramen for extra nutrition
1-2 packages of stir fry sauce such as Five Spice Citrus or Teriyaki sauce
Sesame seeds, chili garlic, almonds, green onions for serving
How to Make It
Heat oil in wok or skillet over high heat until skillet is piping hot and oil is shimmering, almost smoking.
Add veggies to the skillet and stir frequently for a few minutes to cook to your desired taste - look for a crisp-tender with some char on the edges. Season with a little salt and pepper as desired.
Meanwhile, cook ramen according to package instructions in boiling water or bone broth. Drain.
Once veggies are looking good, add sliced meat, cooked noodles, and sauce to veggies. Stir fry together in the pan until everything comes together, is heated through, and coated in sauce.
Plate it up and serve with toppings of your choice. Devour!
