Sausage & Veggie Sauté with Mac and Cheese

I can’t be the only one who takes home those macaroni boxes - when I’m feeling fancy, I make it a little more balanced by stretching it with a meat and veggie sauté!

What You’ll Need

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 12 oz Smoked Sausage links, cubed

  • 12 oz or 16 oz package frozen veggies of your choice

  • 1 package of macaroni and cheese

How to Make It

  1. Place oil in a skillet over medium heat. When simmering, add sausage cubes. Sauté for a few minutes, stirring occasionally to get some color on the sausage.

  2. Add the package of frozen veggies and a little more oil if needed to keep veggies from sticking. As the moisture melts away they will sauté and steam and pick up yummy flavor bits from the sausage. Season according to taste with salt and pepper or an all-purpose seasoning of your choice. We used a Traeger seasoning blend we picked up at Birch! The veggies are done when they are fork tender.

  3. Meanwhile, prepare macaroni and cheese according to package instructions.

  4. Serve up your quick and easy dinner!
