Fun with Finances: A Summer Series for Kids
Bingo Begins!
Ready to Play?
Summer is a great time to try new things, learn new skills, and spend quality time together as a family. That's why we're excited to kick off Financial Literacy Bingo this Monday, June 15th!
Designed for kids ages 5–12, Financial Literacy Bingo introduces money concepts through simple activities, conversations, and everyday experiences. From setting goals to making thoughtful choices, your children can build skills that will help them now and in the future.
Starting June 15th, families can pick up a Financial Literacy Bingo card at shopping check-in and begin completing activities throughout the summer.
Learning Together
Financial Literacy Bingo is designed to help families talk about money in a fun and low-pressure way. We encourage parents and caregivers to participate alongside their children while letting kids take the lead whenever possible.
The bingo cards are geared toward children ages 5–12, but younger and older siblings are welcome to join in. The goal is simply to learn together, have fun, and build confidence along the way.
How Financial Literacy Bingo Works
Getting started is easy! Each child can pick up a Financial Literacy Bingo card at shopping check-in designed for their age group, with separate versions available for Elementary and Middle Grades.
As your child completes activities on the bingo card, use the boxes on the back to record answers, make lists, or draw pictures for completed squares. Be sure to write the square number in each box, then mark the completed square with an "X." Complete at least one row across, down, or diagonally to earn a bingo. Once your child has completed at least one bingo, bring the card to the check-in window to receive a prize.
Completed bingo cards can be turned in for prizes between July 1st and August 15th, so families have plenty of time to participate throughout the summer.
A Great Place to Start…
Need some inspiration for checking off bingo squares? Consider a visit to the new East County Library in Gresham.
The library is filled with opportunities to learn, explore, and discover new interests. Kids can browse books, attend free programs, research topics they're curious about, and practice setting goals through summer reading activities.
A library visit may even help your child complete several bingo squares while having fun at the same time!
Growing Skills for the Future
Whether your child completes one bingo or fills the entire card, we hope this challenge sparks meaningful conversations and encourages learning throughout the summer. Every activity is a chance to build confidence, practice new skills, and take one more step toward a strong future.
So grab a bingo card, visit the library, explore something new, and have fun learning together this summer!
Pick up a Bingo Card at Shopping Check-In or print one from home to join the fun. Complete your card and turn it in anytime between July 1st and August 15th to receive a prize!
